The activities to pursue are endless in this region of France. Winter sports are catered for by the proximity of the Pyrenean mountain range.  Montazels  nestles in the warm, temperate Aude valley, which means that snow doesn't usually settle here, so if you're planning  a winter visit you'll only need snow chains if you're going  up into the mountains.

The nearest ski resort, 27 miles away, is Camurac, with 16 downhill pistes and 14 km of cross-country ski tracks. Buses from Quillan leave twice a day during the skiing season.  Slightly further afield are Puyvalador and Les Angles, - an hours drive.  Here you will find pistes suitable for beginners through to experts, in addition to off -piste routes for the more adventurous.
